Here at Northside one of the components of our Mission Statement is “Connecting to our Community”. To accomplish that goal we use a plan called the Dollar Club.
We ask every person that attends Northside Christian Church to join The Dollar Club by simply giving an additional dollar each week. We use the monies specifically given towards the Dollar Club to help a person or persons in the community that are in need. The first Sunday of each month we announce to the congregation what need was met and how.
There are a number of other churches around the country that are involved in the Dollar Club and the stories are phenomenal. Each week we have the joy of surprising a complete stranger in our community with a large sum of money with absolutely no strings attached. Even in a down economy there is nothing better than being ridiculously generous.
By the way, if you know someone who has a need that the Dollar Club could meet please let us know. That’s why the Dollar Club exists.
